Job Overview: To maintain a high quality standard of cleanliness and provide courteous service to guests.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Make-Up Day: Straighten and clean assigned rooms, houses, public areas and staff areas to specifications provided during training. This includes:

o Clean: Kitchens, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, etc.

o Wash and dry: Dishes, plates, and flatware

o Empty: Garbage

o Remake or change beds as necessary

o Restock: Towels, soap, tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, and coffee

o Dust, vacuum, wash bathroom and kitchen floors

o Cleaning: Toilets, tubs and sinks

o Maintain utility, stock carts and vans and order needed supplies from Laundry

 

  • Changeover Day: When guests check-out, clean all rooms and houses assigned to you.

o Cleaning includes all tasks on make-up day as well as:

§ Change all linens

§ Clean inside: Drawers, closets, refrigerators

§ Wash: Garbage cans and recycle containers

§ Wipe down: Pictures, moldings, doors

§ Replace: Laundry bags, hangers, room folder supplies, and shower curtains

§ Maintain utility, stock carts and vans and order needed supplies from Laundry

§ Section Leader will call office for more instructions

 

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Qualifications: To perform job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: No prior experience or training is needed for this position.

 

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence and memos, present information and updates in one-on-one and/or small group situations with guests, homeowners, guests, or coworkers.

 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using units of money, weight measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply sound and prudent judgement to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: No certificates, licenses or registrations are required.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use fingers, handle, feel, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste and smell.
  • Lift or exert force up to 50 lbs.
  • Carry basket of cleaning supplies, vacuum, sheets, towels, blankets, duvets, bedspreads and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Able to move:

o Housekeeping carts on wheels, small chairs, nightstands, dressers, rollaway, beds and cribs

  • The following vision requirements are also helpful:

o Clear:

§ Close vision at 20 inches or less

§ Distance at 20 feet or more

o Ability to identify and distinguish colors

o Peripheral Vision: can observe an area seen vertical, horizontal and left/right with eyes fixed on one point

o Depth perception: 3 dimensional, judging distances in spatial relationships

o Adjust focus: bring an object into sharp focus
